The freezing rain and sleet will turn completely to snow by
Thursday morning... with total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches
though locally higher amounts are expected northwest of Interstate
44. Strong northwest winds gusting to 35 mph will combine with the
freezing rain and snow to make driving hazardous.

Residents of extreme southeast Kansas and the Missouri
Ozarks... including the Springfield area... are urged to take this
weather situation seriously. Begin preparing for this winter storm
now. Again... beginning tonight... Road conditions will quickly
deteriorate and ice accumulations are likely by the morning commute.
Additionally... snow will accumulate on top of the ice through
tomorrow.

right now i'm staying in the shed out back of my parents' place, which is fortunately climate-controlled. i'm dying to write something of substance - do let me know if you think i've succeeded. i have lots of other wild plans.

my mom says i'm a smart girl who can do anything. i half believe her.

it's been a few green years since i started this journal, for several reasons. lots of new starts, beginnings where ends were. sometimes, beginnings before the ends really ended. green as in fruitful, also - at least in Spirit.

as to how long this journal will last, i can't say. i used to think i'd never want a new journal and that it'd be neat to have a journal with 40 years' worth of entries, but i'm beginning to realize the need for a fresh start. something about a clean page. if you're interested, you can find the old entries at abrokenspoon. again, comment to be added.

i've hated green for a long time but lately i've wanted it around. it's a symbol of my recent weird personality reversal. i've traded outgoing for shy, for example.

right now, i need a warm fuzzy blanket and some hot chocolate. you?
